“For one to fly, one needs only to take the reins. Passion is being scared yet saddling up anyway. At its finest, the rider & the horse are bound not by skill, but by passion & trust. A great rider can hear the horse’s whisper. I have seen things so beautiful that they have brought tears to my eyes. Yet, none of them can match the gracefulness, the spirit & the beauty of a horse. Horses lend us the wings we lack.”

“Great photography is about the depth of the feeling, not the depth of the field. Taking pictures is savouring life intensely, every hundredth of a second. We can look at a picture for a second & think of it all our life. Photography is the art of observation. There is one thing that a photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment. Photography is the beauty of life captured.”

“Life is about the adventures we take & the memories we make. To move, to breathe, to fly, to float, to roam the roads of lands remote, to travel is to live. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Traveling then turns us into storytellers. Our wandering hearts thrive in an immersion of new travel experiences – new sights, new smells, new sounds & new flavours. Not all those who wander are lost.”

Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. Music in itself is healing, a beautiful emotion. An explosive expression of humanity. A passion we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music. It’s love looking for words.

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

Passion naturally brings a beautiful kind of energy, motivation & inspiration. It adds value & depth to our lives. Pursuing our passion though can be quite daunting, emotionally challenging. But, it is extremely rewarding like finding our personal road map. A fulfilling journey.

How do we find what we are passionate about? When we slow down, we are able to tap into the best version of ourselves, which is when we may find the answers that we’ve been searching for. Setting aside some me time helps, like a daily walk. Slowing down allows us to quiet the outside voices to listen. Often, we tell ourselves stories about who we are, what we’re capable of & what we deserve. If we can identify our self-limiting stories then we can begin to write new stories that are grounded in passion, confidence & courage.

In my experience, ideas flow more freely when we just write without an agenda. New inspiration may appear unexpectedly & it becomes easier to connect the dots. So, I always spend some quality time with a pen & paper to process my thoughts without any influence from the outside world. When I’m writing, I’m fully present in the moment. No judgement, no expectations, no effort. Just joy, simplicity & spontaneity. That’s what passion feels like.

Too often, we get wrapped up in the expectations of others or what we set for ourselves. Complicated. But, what do we most love to do? What makes us truly happy? Think back on our lives, remember the simple things we wanted to do, the habits we developed naturally, the games we played, the books we read, the music we played to see how they may apply to our life today. Going back to the basics allows a reset.

No one else has our unique blend of talent, wisdom, strength, skill & creativity. We all have something great to offer. Accepting what makes us unique is crucial to discovering our passion & sharing our gifts with the world.

“It’s your place in the world, it’s your life. Go on & do all you can with it, make it the life you want to live” – Mae Jemison

Start with why

Just read Start With Why. It creatively answers the questions – why are some people & some organisations more innovative, more influential, more profitable & more passionate than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers & employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their success over & over? People like Martin Luther King, Steve Jobs & the Wright Brothers had little in common as leaders, but they all started with passion & a why.

People won’t truly buy into a product, service, movement or idea until they understand the why behind it. Sinek calls this powerful idea The Golden Circle. It provides a framework upon which organisations can be built, movements can be led & people can be inspired. And, it all starts with a why?

Find Your Why picks up where Start With Why left off. Shares how to apply simple yet powerful insights so that we can find more passion, more motivation & also inspire those around us. Achieving fulfilment starts with understanding exactly why we do what we do. Inspirational.

Passion & a plan

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some passion & some compassion. When passion & skill work together, expect a masterpiece” – Maya Angelou.

Our passion ignites an aspiration, an ambition. Passion inspires. However, we can’t climb the Everest in a pair of flip flops, just because we feel passionate about reaching the summit. Indeed, passion is an incredible fuel for innovation & stimulation to face the most challenging scenarios, to stay focused on making our dreams come true. It gives us the belief & motivation to take the first steps towards our precious goals, bringing plenty of positivity. Still, to succeed we need the balance of an equally grounded strategy, a structured plan & a consistent ability to execute. We can achieve anything as long as we have the passion, the drive, the focus & the support.

“The one thing that you have that nobody else has, is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write, draw, build, play & live as only you can” – Neil Gaiman.
