Starting the 1st of January 2025, the blog will pick a ‘WORD OF THE WEEK’, to share & explore the significance of the selected word like passion, purpose, playfulness. Here’s an expression for the word – passion.

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”
Passion naturally brings a beautiful kind of energy, motivation & inspiration. It adds value & depth to our lives. Pursuing our passion though can be quite daunting, emotionally challenging. But, it is extremely rewarding like finding our personal road map. A fulfilling journey.
How do we find what we are passionate about? When we slow down, we are able to tap into the best version of ourselves, which is when we may find the answers that we’ve been searching for. Setting aside some me time helps, like a daily walk. Slowing down allows us to quiet the outside voices to listen. Often, we tell ourselves stories about who we are, what we’re capable of & what we deserve. If we can identify our self-limiting stories then we can begin to write new stories that are grounded in passion, confidence & courage.
In my experience, ideas flow more freely when we just write without an agenda. New inspiration may appear unexpectedly & it becomes easier to connect the dots. So, I always spend some quality time with a pen & paper to process my thoughts without any influence from the outside world. When I’m writing, I’m fully present in the moment. No judgement, no expectations, no effort. Just joy, simplicity & spontaneity. That’s what passion feels like.
Too often, we get wrapped up in the expectations of others or what we set for ourselves. Complicated. But, what do we most love to do? What makes us truly happy? Think back on our lives, remember the simple things we wanted to do, the habits we developed naturally, the games we played, the books we read, the music we played to see how they may apply to our life today. Going back to the basics allows a reset.
No one else has our unique blend of talent, wisdom, strength, skill & creativity. We all have something great to offer. Accepting what makes us unique is crucial to discovering our passion & sharing our gifts with the world.
“It’s your place in the world, it’s your life. Go on & do all you can with it, make it the life you want to live” – Mae Jemison
