Email: How do we define success? (AUS)
“There’s no such thing as what we should be doing with our life”
How often have we thought about what success means to us?
Honestly, isn’t something I’ve given much thought to. At one point, internalised a vague idea of success – great degrees, decent jobs, good man, kids, house with a green lawn.
Along the way, experiences helped better understand stuff. Realised a few variances on how success was defined by family, friends and culture. Explicitly, implicitly observed other’s rules and expectations. Praised with appreciative trophies for total compliance.
Objectively questioned generalised ideas of success defined largely as material objects – big house, big car, big bank balance. One size fits all. Most lives look great on paper but superficial or settling for less. Pushing self into an inescapable rut. Success?
Each of us needs to create our own honest, distinct definition of success. What brings true joy, expansion and fulfilment. Deliberately, authentically choosing how we want to live, focus on what matters most.
Isn’t turning life upside down, small shifts can also make a big difference. What do we really desire, dream, want or deserve? Our intuitive insights, spark and wisdom illuminates clear answers, sense of freedom, bursts of enthusiasm, passion.
Consider all aspects of our life – work, relationships, intellectual and emotional balance, health, wellness. Our inner journey of discovery to real abundance. The life we want is always attainable within reach, if we believe we can.
Success is a beautiful blend of material, financial, emotional and intellectual strength or satisfaction. Pride in our individuality, vulnerability, worth, value, judgement, generosity.
Need five things for success – curiosity, creativity, courage, compassion and trust. Trust in self, trust in the universe.
