“Play isn’t something separate from the daily grind of life. It is not something to finally get to when our work ends. Rather, play like music, is a positive force that we feel in our bones & that whispers in our heart. When we engage in what we are naturally suited to do, our work takes on the quality of play & it is play that stimulates creativity. In play we manifest innovative, interactive ways of relating with people, animals, things, ideas, art & above all, ourselves. As kids demonstrate, play is not over there, but forever here & now.”

It is paradoxical how we still differentiate between a time for learning, a time for work & a time for play without seeing the vital connection between them. We’ve attained success & fulfilment in our fields when we don’t really know whether what we’re doing is work or play. In play, we learn how to learn. The creation of something new is not just accomplished by the intellect, but by the play instinct. Genius is play & our capacity for achieving genius is infinite.

Play is not an activity, it is a mindset. Play is our brain’s favourite way of learning. When we are playful, each moment in life is a beautiful celebration. Fun is a critical element to succeed in our work or passionate endeavours. A creative mind is a playful mind. “Play is the highest form of research” – Einstein

In today’s rush, sometimes, we can think too much, seek too much, want too much & forget the joy of just being. Mindfulness is an aware & balanced acceptance of the present experience. It is opening to or receiving the present moment, just as it is, without any expectation or judgement. A great way to live is to gratefully accept each minute as an unrepeatable miracle. “Within you, there is a stillness & a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time to simply be yourself” – Hermann Hesse

“Every breath & step we take can be filled with peace, joy & serenity. When we make peace with ourself, we make peace with the world. Peace is not something we just wish for. It is something we are, something we do & something we give away. Peace begins with a smile” – Thich Nhat Hanh

There seems to be a kind of order in our universe, in the movement of the stars, in the turning of the earth & in the changing of the beautiful seasons. “Every season is one of becoming, but not always one of blooming. Be gracious with your ever-evolving self. Gratitude for the turning of the seasons. May we attune our hearts to their enduring message of peace, joy, compassion & renewal” – Granger

“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood & sorry I could not travel both. Be one traveler, long I stood & looked down one as far as I could. To where it bent in the undergrowth. Then took the other, as just as fair. And having perhaps the better claim, because it was grassy & wanted wear. Though as for that the passing there, had worn them really about the same & both that morning equally lay, in leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day. Yet, knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh, somewhere ages & ages hence. Two roads diverged in a wood & I, I took the one less traveled by & that has made all the difference” – Robert Frost

“We need women at all levels, including at the top, to change the dynamic, to reshape the conversation, to infuse compassion, to strengthen diversity, to make sure women’s voices are heard. It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about where you get yourself in the end. There’s strength in owning your unique story, in using your authentic voice” – Michelle Obama.

“Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women. I will always be the girl who believed she could make it to the moon, in a world that still debates whether girls should have an education” – Maya Angelou

Without faith, nothing is possible. With belief, nothing is impossible. Within our dreams, passions & aspirations, we find endless possibilities & great hope. Possibility is everywhere. The key is to develop the vision to see it & the focus to achieve it. “Everyone knew it was impossible until a fool came along & did it”- Einstein

“It always pays to dwell slowly on the beautiful things, the more beautiful the more slowly. Give me a quiet life, give me trees, the wind through them, give me the sea & the song it sings. Give me heartbeats shared with those I love, give me peace & a long deep sleep. The great benefit of slowing down is reclaiming the time & tranquility to make meaningful connections with people, with cultures, with work, with nature, with our own body, mind & soul. For fast acting relief, try slowing down” – Tyler Gregson
