Learning…

Email: Left school early, no real education. Want to study at 45, can I? (US)

Empathetic. Though fairy tales lead us to believe that when we reach a goal we can rest happily ever after, the reality is that without the challenge of goals we struggle to excite, stimulate our mind & spirit. Goals help us expand our understanding & experience of life.

We may have gotten the idea that learning ends when we leave school, but we still have much to learn about each phase of our lives, the world around us & who we are as individuals. When we feel curious or enlivened by a subject, it’s a clue telling us where we could make the best use of our energy.

With the internet, learning is readily available, even if there is no formal schooling. As we pursue our inspirations & interests, we may find that we are actually following our passion. Possibly, our purpose. As they say, when the student is ready, the teacher appears!

Happy Birthday!

Inca city Machu Picchu is the magnet that draws visitors to Peru, but with landscapes ranging from the snowy peaks of the Andes, home to soaring condor birds to the lush, wildlife-filled rainforest around the source of the mighty Amazon river, this South American country has so much wonder to offer. Capital Lima has an internationally renowned food scene while the inland colonial city Cusco is a charming gateway to the ancient treasures of the Sacred Valley. The sprawling hilltop Lost City of Choquequirao is arguably Peru’s greatest wonder. From there, an epic train ride connects to Titicaca, South America’s largest, lovliest lake where the Uros people live on floating man-made islands. Experience the mysterious desert-carved Nazca Lines & mummified remains of cliff-dwelling Chahapoyanpeople of the clouds.”

Macaws…

The Red-Green Macaw or the Green-Winged Macaw is a lovely large, mostly-red macaw. Widespread in the natural forests & woodlands of South America. However, in recent years there has been a marked decline in numbers due to habitat loss, illegal capture for parrot trade. Endangered. Known as a gentle giant due to it’s calm disposition, charming personality & bold colours.

Adopt A MacawWWF

Recently, adopted a rescued baby Red & Green Macaw. He was kept in terrible conditions in a cage half it’s size with clipped feathers, hardly any food to eat. A beautiful, bright & brilliant bird. Now, he’s uncaged, learning to free-fly, speak a few words & do amazing tricks. “Hello Ma”, “Love You” is what I hear all day. Just loves to somersault, play with water showers, whistle, sing & dance along with the music. Absolutely in rhythm. Enjoy’s our bonding time due to his social nature. Simply adorable, we’re inseparable.

Sea turtle…

Over the last 200 years, human activities have made Sea Turtles vulnerable to extinction. Sea Turtles face threats from poaching for their eggs, meat, skin & shells. Habitat destruction, plastic pollution in oceans, accidental entangling in fishing nets, trash on the beaches, oil spills also cause their deaths. 6 of 7 sea turtle species are classified as threatened, endangered or critically endangered. A 90% population decline of a species of Sea Turtle called Leatherbacksthe largest sea turtle, weighing up to 2,000 pounds.

Sea Turtle Conservancy – Donate & Support For Awareness

Sea Turtles are a fundamental link in marine eco-systems as they help maintain the health of sea-grass beds & coral reefs, provide a healthy habitat to marine species, food for animals both on shore & at sea. In the sea, they carry algae, organisms eaten by fish & shrimps. On shore, as Sea Turtles nest & hatch eggs, they improve vegetation of beach dunes by giving essential nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus & potassium. According to Sea Turtle Conservancy, if the Sea Turtles went extinct, both marine & beach life would be negatively affected.

The Essence of Photography – world-renowned photographer Bruce Barnbaum draws upon 50 years of experience, observations to teach the art of photographic seeing & creativity. There is a lot more to photography than simply picking up a camera, pointing it towards something, tripping the shutter. Achieving a great photograph requires thought & preparation, an understanding of the photographic process, a firm grasp of how light & composition affect a photo. There must be personal expression & experimentation.
