The blog will pick a word of the week, to share & explore the selected word. Here’s an expression for the word – Río (Spanish).

A river flows so calm and wide
With silver waves that bounce and glide
It whispers softly to the trees
And carries dreams upon the breeze.
It dances gently through the land
With pebbles shining on its sand
It carries leaves and boats along
Sings a soft and peaceful song.
It travels past the fields of green
Through serene places, rarely seen
Beneath the sun, beneath the rain
It finds its winding path again.
Some days it flows gently
Some days it breaks and cries
But, still it finds its way ahead
With nothing left to hide.
“I have carried fallen leaves,” it says
“And carried stars at night
I have known the weight of storms
And still searched for the light.”
The river knows what silence means
It has heard the mountains cry
Held the moon upon its surface
And watched a thousand sunsets die.
And, somewhere beyond the hills
Where the sky meets the endless blue
The playful river finds the ocean
And, all its dreams come true.
The deepest thoughts of a river
Are often never said
They live between the beating heart
And the words it leaves unsaid.
Perhaps, that is its wisdom
To be grateful and still carry on
To trust the distant ocean
Though the shore is never known.
The river shares, as it goes
That life keeps moving, never slows
And though its journey may be long
It flows along with a beautiful song.
Like the river, we can be
Brave enough to wander free
Through every turn, through joy and pain
We find our way to flow again.
A river inspires us
That even the darkest waters
Still reflect the stars.
The river keeps on flowing
And somehow, so do we.
We learn how to become the person
We were always meant to be.
