The blog will pick a word of the week, to share & explore the selected word. Here’s an expression for the word – emotion. Defined as a strong feeling deriving from one’s circumstances, moods, experiences, expectations or relationships. An instinctive or intuitive feeling as distinguished from reasoning or knowledge. The word ’emotion’ was coined in the 1800s by Thomas Brown. “The best & the most beautiful things in our world must be felt with the heart” – Helen Keller. Our emotions make us human, the driving force of our life.

Empathy fosters connection, compassion & creativity. Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, feeling with the heart of another. The great gift of being human is that we have the power of empathy, to create a more compassionate world. “The highest form of knowledge is empathy” – Bill Bullard.
Only empathy for others can bring us the tranquility & happiness we all seek. Empathy has no script. There is no right or wrong way to do it. It’s not about agreement either. It is fully, deeply understanding another, emotionally & intellectually. It’s simply listening, holding space, emotionally connecting & communicating that incredibly healing message of ‘you’re not alone.’ Empathy is a choice, it’s a vulnerable choice – Brené Brown.
