Mountains

The blog will pick a word of the week, to share & explore the selected word. Here’s an expression for the word – mountains. “It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves” – Sir Edmund Hillary.

“Somewhere between the bottom of the climb & the summit lies the answer to the mystery, why do we climb? The best view comes after the hardest climb. The earth & the sky, the woods & the fields, the lakes & the rivers, the mountains & the sea are all excellent school masters, they teach some of us more than what we could ever learn from books. Climb the mountain not to plant your flag, but to embrace the challenge, to enjoy nature & to behold the view. Climb it so you can see the world, not so the world can see you.”

Although I deeply love the oceans, deserts & other wild landscapes, it is only the mountains that beckon me with an irresistible magnetic pull to walk deeper & deeper into their beauty, serenity & the spirit of adventure. They keep me continuously wanting to know more, feel more, see more.
