Read a beautiful conservation story. In the 70s, this small monkey, found only in Rio de Janeiro state of Brazil was driven to the brink of extinction. A combination of deforestation & pet trade reduced their population to just a few hundred.

Until, 150 zoos joined forces to save this beautiful species. Started a global captive breeding program together with efforts from Brazilian conservationists to protect monkey’s forest homes. Their amazing effort has helped increase the number of wild Golden Lion Tamarins to over 3,500. Imagining a better world…
