All of us are always encouraged to cleanse negativity, feel good. Push it away with an exhale, inhale positivity all the time! Pain, discomfort are bad vibes to avoid.
We’re gifted with a wonderful range of emotions, experiences. Who are we to banish low, dark, imperfect, hollow notes from our overall octaves of existence? Too much cleansing makes us dry, dull, brittle, sterile. Like when there’s excitement for too long, it gets stale. A life of constant light isn’t sustainable, need beautiful balance of ebbs, flows. Richest revelations linger in our shadows. Precious gems in deepest, darkest corners of self like diamonds out of coal.
Dark feelings bring us into the present, an awesome alarm to focus within. Catalyst for growth, renewal, re-birth. Each day, uncertainty tests our humility, self-belief, abilities to withstand or cherish what life has to offer. Listen to fragile whispers of our darkness!
Our pain matters. So does discomfort, sadness, confusion. Without giving space to darker feelings, lighter sentiments will also be kept at bay. When we close off to pain, we close off to the full spectrum of passionate, energetic emotional experiences. Know, discarding protective covers feels tough, but permeability, vulnerability connects us deeply with our honest inner selves. The most important lesson I’ve learnt in my life, so far. Led me to freedom of creative expression.
What makes us whole, fully alive is being who we are. Embrace dark, light within. Need to nurture inner sensitivity with self-love, others with intuitive compassion. Testament of our inner strength, emotional agility.
