Resilience

Resilience is our ability to stay grounded & bounce back when things don’t go as we expected or planned. Resilience inspires us to stay energetic, passionate, positive & compassionate with oneself, to learn & start again afresh. How do we build resilience? 

Loosen our expectations – Often, we can have unrealistic expectations. We can also expect things to happen less than ideally. Not being too attached to specific outcomes helps.

Learn flexibility – How can we make things better with different attitudes, tools or techniques? New perspectives, creative ideas, innovative methods to apply?

Practice self-compassion – When things go pear-shaped, we can be critical or judge ourselves harshly. Self-love & self-compassion is the key. 

Don’t ignore challenges – Be bold & fearless. Challenges are a great learning & development opportunity. 

Find encouragement – Ask for help from experts, colleagues, counsellors, friends & family. We are never alone. 

Learn perseverance – Stay calm & balanced when things go astray. Nothing is bigger than our own creativity, self-belief & grit.
