What is spirituality? It refers to an individual’s search for meaning & purpose in life, often involving a sense of connection to something larger than oneself. This can encompass religious beliefs, practices or experiences. Also, non-religious approaches like personal growth, connection with nature or the pursuit of meaning through art. It’s about exploring the deeper aspects of life to find a sense of belonging & significance. An inter-connectedness to a higher power, nature or other people. Spirituality often involves questioning one’s place in the universe. Spirituality can involve self-reflection, mindfulness, the pursuit of personal values & goals for the greater good.
Spirituality is the recognition of a feeling, a sense or belief that there is something greater than oneself, something more to being human than just sensory experiences, that the greater whole of which we are part of is cosmic or divine in nature. Anyone can be spiritual. Spirituality involves exploring certain universal themes – love, compassion, altruism, destiny, life after death, wisdom & truth. An opening of the heart is an essential aspect of true spirituality. Spiritual people are very in the moment, earthly, balanced & heart-centred. So authentic with intuitive intelligence, passion & positive energy. They believe in ‘transcendence’, a sense of connection to something much higher in meaning or purpose than just themselves. Seek to connect with something beyond the obvious, dive into the depths of the unseen or the unknown. Believe in the big picture, unafraid.
They aim to create & cultivate sacred moments to just be. When experiencing difficult situations, they look for deeper meaning, learning & growth. They own a unique ability to transmute joy or pain into belief, hope & strength. Compassionate & empathetic as they can feel beyond the veils of our mundane existence. Most of us have these traits, but unfortunately unaware of or under-utilised. True self-realisation & self-awareness is the first step to being spiritual.
