Love of a long walk…

Yesterday, set off on a long walk in the rainforests. Tired from usual un-motivating activities, decided to walk in the wonders of nature.

The start was really nice, felt good to be moving outdoors, so liberating. Walked for an hour before taking a short break, pulled out a book to read by the lake, a few favourite biscuits. After a little break, headed out again.

Started to feel some discomfort, hadn’t walked so much in a while. But a stimulated mind pushed back against body’s discomfort. Sometimes, it’s good to feel uncomfortable, let the mind complain.

The sun was bright pink, a dazzling neon red. Breath-taking. Stopped for random photos though my phone’s camera couldn’t capture it’s true beauty. Kept walking, marvelling at purple and orange skies, ridiculously fluorescent sun. Raw, creative, vulnerable beauty.

The light faded to twilight. It was peacefully quiet, awe-inspiring. A good walk can clear our heads, push us into discomfort so we can act differently, makes us really appreciate the full majesty, mystery of life.

In every walk with nature, one receives far more than one seeks. Can’t wait to go on another long walk soon.
