In the moment…

Some moments are important stepping stones to our destinations. We have a tendency to discount these moments, think of ones coming up soon.

We’re in traffic, a rush to get somewhere. But this moment sitting frustrated, is incredibly valuable. It’s full of sounds, sights, textures, emotions. Tests our ability to learn patience, how to realistically deal with restrictions, struggle.

We’re walking to a meeting. A moment’s opportunity to empower self, be passionately curious, appreciate the quiet space before rush of meeting. Someone interrupts. How dare they! An opportunity to appreciate another person, non-judgementally.

We’re showering, dancing, listening to music. These moments are great to be playful, quirky, honest self-reflections, de-cluttering minds, feel true joy.

Each moment rushes by, whoosh it’s gone. We don’t notice, because it’s unimportant. Our lives become a huge pile of unnoticed, unimportant moments. But, important stuff also gets tossed on to the same pile, until we’re left wondering where it all went.

Each moment is blessed, like fresh dew on grass. Fragile ready to evaporate, precious. Let’s not waste each dew-like moment with neglect, fully embrace and love it.
