Receptivity…

Lesson today:
Felt a bit resistant to alternative view-points, unbending in opinions. While it’s important to listen to our own intuitions, wisdom, ideas of other people give insightful perspectives to consider, help us make astute calls to action.
Remained open with a simple affirmation, ‘I will listen to others today’! Being receptive to unique, creative thoughts, suggestions feels terrific. Adds great value, purpose. Paying attention to what others say gives us diverse data points to make wise plans, decisions.
We naturally listen to our inner voices, understand, access support of others to step out of our comfort zones, fulfil our core needs, expectations, goals. Hence, we simply avoid making mistakes, get greater mental clarity, peace.
Tolerance turns into compassion, empathising with human emotions. We see differences in people, our human brain seeks to classify everything as we generally see, understand. There’s underlying similarities in cultures. As humans we share same needs.
Our cultural upbringing teaches us how to understand the world we live in. Though each culture may have different ways of celebrating phases of life or philosophies, they are all providing a core understanding of how to live. Ideas from other cultures sometimes feel a better fit, more aligned with our inner knowing, than frameworks we’ve been taught. We broaden our perspectives, openness, learn new attitudes to appreciate our world.
