Went horse-riding today after months, Singapore Turf Club. Fell off the horse twice, selected a real tough nut called ‘Chilli‘! Took saddles off to ride him bareback, holding his flowing hair, neck. Didn’t quit – we cantered, galloped on the race tracks! All soggy, muddy, dirty, messy, bruised, bleeding, out of control – total laughing stock for others!

Over time, we’ve learned to suppress the most fun aspects of our individuality. Express our distinctiveness in many ways. Although we share some offbeat traits, preferences, we take great pains to downplay eccentricities.
Instead of living lives coloured by these quirky spontaneous impulses, we seek socially acceptable outlets for our peculiarities. Edit selves, our awareness is unintentionally attuned to attitudes of people we encounter. To rediscover, embrace these buried traits, we only need to ask selves what would we do if we knew no one would judge!
Visualising a day without judgment can help us understand idiosyncrasies that are an important part of who we are, but seldom manifest. Envision painting our car electric-green, hugging a tree, singing joyous songs, break out dancing, change hair colour. Unexpectedly simple, surprising directions.
