Serengeti National Park is one of my favourite safari’s in Tanzania, Africa. Serengeti name derives from Maasai phrase “siringet” which translates to “endless plains”.
Fits perfectly into my dreams with it’s abundant wildlife, golden plains dotted with thorny acacia trees, crocodile and hippo filled rivers. Savannah (flat grasslands), wildlife visibility is very high. Easy to spot many fellow great cats – lovely lionesses! Renowned for large lion, ‘Big 5’ population. Wonderful to observe lion prides in natural habitats.
Serengeti hosts 2nd largest terrestrial mammal migration. Massive wildebeest migration is a rolling year round spectacle. Eco-system is home to over 3,000 lions, 1,000 leopards.
