Missing Grandma…

Missing Grandma – so loving, giving and inspirational. When I feel as if living like a ‘robot’ – disconnected, distant, dispassionate, remember her memorable messages when I turned 18. Asked:

What am I meant to do in life? Future seemed overwhelming. She said – finding is passive, outside our control. Instead of finding meaning it’s better to create meaning. Explore, desire, seek, achieve, make mistakes, learn to create your own purpose.

What’s my ability? Thought had a fixed set of talents, skills. She said, we aren’t wired fixed but changeable. As a vibrant being we will evolve, grow, flow, transform no matter what. Believe in self. We focus on what we do or how we do it. Seldom do we ask why we do it? Honesty is key. Being of service to others brings greatest joy and happiness.

What’s my gift, passion? ‘Follow your passion’ is what we hear. Instead of focusing on finding passion, follow our natural curiosity, intuition. Lead’s to passion, life force.

What’s best investment of time? Experiences define us. Opens doors to new people, cultures, creativity, perspectives. Invest in love, wisdom, kindness, compassion. Never give up on authenticity, innocence, passion, faith in what we trust as truth.

What if I fail? We will stumble, fall. The road will be rocky. We will question if things make sense. Similar response to Steve Jobs, ‘you can’t connect dots looking forward. You can only connect looking backwards. You have to trust the dots will somehow connect. Have to trust in something, your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever’.

Wish I could get her deeply nurturing love, understanding and support once again. Miss her so much but she lives in my heart.
