Email: Don’t think happiness is for me. Life’s tough. (US)
Heartfelt happiness is an experience we long for in our lives. Can be a dream vacation, an exciting love, bringing home a pet and so on.
Yet, when the actual possibility of real happiness emerges, we may feel fear or guilt to enjoy it. If guilt is interfering with our ability to feel joy, let’s look at beliefs we hold about self and what happiness truly means to us.
Guilt about feeling happy for different reasons. Deep down may think we don’t deserve to be happy due to unfortunate experiences in our early years or specific life events.
Perhaps, it once seemed as if painful experiences always followed happy ones. So whenever we begin to feel happy, we are fearful for the other shoe to drop.
Happiness may simply feel uncomfortable because we’ve gotten used to feeling low, numb, undeserving, unworthy of true joy.
Truth is when we feel guilty to allow self to enjoy positive new, unique emotions, we are blocking or denying a part of self that has the right to be very happy.
Limiting self to pre-conditioned mindsets or negative feelings stifles the chance to experience real fullness of life. Let’s life pass us by. Not worth it.
Fortunately, we can shift our mindset in how we respond to opportunities for true happiness and fulfilment.
From now on, when happiness begins to blossom in our heart – dream it, welcome it, accept it, love it, believe it, ask it to stay, nurture it, enjoy it. We surely deserve joy.
Feeling good is an expression of our inner wholeness, our innocent connection with self, life and what matters the most. A special, secret ingredient.
Happiness is a choice we make. Decide to be happy. A reason will surely come along! Abundance will shower and shine. Give self freedom and space for inner child to play!
Let’s embrace beauty and happiness like a long-awaited companion!
