Curiously astonished listening to girl talk in shopping malls. Main driver is what to buy to attract men?!
Reminiscing about how I trusted Mom to furnish my wardrobe, till university! Shopping was such a waste of time. Somehow, Mom knew what’ll make me happy!
Samples of overheard conversations:-
A1 – Buy either black or red lingerie as men love it! Show all your curves.
B1 – But, my favourite colour is pink?
A1 – Who cares, I’ve more experience than you, shut up and listen! Your BF will go crazy!
A2 – When buying a bra make sure it’s revealing and easy to unclip, so don’t take this one!
B2 – But, it’s so nice, lovely!
A2 – Decide whether you want a beautiful bra or a sexy date tonight?
A3 – Love these shoes, very high heals make me look taller and thinner.
B3 – Think, it looks so uncomfortable, too pointed. Tough to walk.
A3 – Research shows men are attracted to girls who wear high heals. I have to buy!
Love buying fancy lingerie, lacy bras and pretty shoes, as well, Not a colour missing in my wardrobe to flaunt. But, for self-love and nurture, not for validation of men, as the sole purpose.
What’s going on? Women have stopped loving themselves for who they naturally are! We feel not good enough without these superficial accessories? Feel judged or compared and fear losing out?!
Unless expensive stuff, artificial make-up, jewellery, shoes or dresses, we aren’t worthy of men? Play the victim!
Simply smile. Our self-worth is no longer based on our values, unique personality, spotless attitude, authenticity, amazing talents, creativity, pure love, selfless nurturing, compassion, natural radiance, charm, attraction, innocence, sensuality or sexiness.
It’s precious, rare and everlasting. Rest assured. We can confidently dress to kill, without being scared or uncomfortable.
