Email: Difference between wisdom and knowledge? (US)
Here’s my perspective:
Knowledge is facts, theories, ideas acquired through study, research, groups, investigation, practical experiences, personal or social conditioning.
Wisdom is the synthesis of knowledge. Ability to listen, observe, feel, understand, interpret what’s unwritten & unspoken. Our innate knowing & judgement. Intuitive insights, sensitive perceptions. Discerns elements of knowledge that are ‘fit for purpose’ to life’s desires, purpose, meaning.
Wisdom humbly challenges knowledge to expand, evolve, invent out of it’s usual or standard modes of operations. Wisdom teaches personal empowerment, assertiveness, individuality. Knowledge usually follows a collective.
Success is a blend of wisdom & knowledge. A balanced self-worth is essential. Knowledge marvels at wisdom for it’s curiosity to move past mental confines, explore what’s beyond – unseen, unheard, unknown & uncomfortable.
If knowledge is information, wisdom is it’s relevant application, insight is awareness of it’s underlying essence.
Knowledge is measuring a desert path is 15 miles. Wisdom is packing enough water for hike. Insight is building a lemonade stand at mile 6.
A kid could be wiser than a knowledgeable adult…!
Interesting analysis n presentation .
