History and heritage…

We’re pieces of a larger puzzle. Born into complex network of individuals, settings, circumstances – family heritage. These influences have shaped who we’ve become.

Traits of our ancestors gives us insights into how our character, beliefs, norms have developed as foundation of our world view. Relatives who made interesting choices, sacrificed to customs or involved in traumatic events.

It’s easy to overestimate importance of these pieces of our past, cling. Balance is key. As unique individuals, we decide what we chose to do with genetic coding, conditioning, personal empowerment, aspirations and free will.

It isn’t about who did what or when to follow similar patterns if unfulfilling. Rather to build self-awareness, strategy to bridge gulf between what’s traditional, meaningful to preserve from our past and create the purposeful new to blend into shaping our future, to it’s maximum potential and satisfaction.

Whilst our heritage influences our personality development, we’re truly much more than an ethnicity, a culture or a family. We shouldn’t be driven to alter our core selves, intuitive wisdom, likes, dreams, preferences, desires, goals.

Knowing our history is about respecting who we truly are, understanding where we’ve come from and preparing the best we can for a genuinely joyous, fulfilling future.

Have experienced, learnt and evolved as well.
