Exotic, expensive flowers…

 

Fabulous flowers, some of the most exotic, expensive in the world.

Kadupul Flower – Technically a cactus, it’s is found only in Sri Lanka. Unbelievably rare, stunning white flower. Blossoms at night, survives mere hours. Catching even a glimpse is next to impossible.

Juliet Rose – Rare bloom. In 2006, a grower sold his bloom for $15 million, after harvesting it for 15 years.

Shenzhen Nonke Orchid – Blooms every 5 years, fetched £160,000 at auction, 2005.

Gold of Kinabalu Orchid – Blooms every 15 years, £3,800. Kinabalu National Park.

Saffron Crocus – Used as a spice in various cuisines. Rare, $1000 per flower.

Corpse Flower – Largest unbranched inflorescence, Java. Reaches 3 metres.

Jade VineRare turquoise or emerald, Philippines. Stem up to 18 metres.

Chocolate Cosmos – dark red, chocolate scented, Mexico.

Fire Lily – exceptional, brilliant orange-red fire, European gem.
