Bhutan – Paro Taktsang…

Bhutan. A Buddhist kingdom in the Himalayas. Known for it’s beautiful, peaceful monasteries, treasured fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys – a hidden gem.

Paro Taktsang monastery ( Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs, above the forested Paro Valley. A surreal, sacred 17th century temple, located on a cliffside. Heart of Bhutan. Visiting Paro Taktsang Monastery is an unforgettable experience. A unique location, surrounded by majestic mountains and emerald green valleys. Main peculiarity is it’s isolated location only accessible by tough mountainous paths, an easy 3 hour trek!

Interior design of temple impresses with its luxurious beauty. A gold-plated dome and flickering lights illuminate the golden idols. ‘Hall of Thousand Buddhas’ carved into the rock has a large, gorgeous statue of a tiger. Surreal.
