A new C-suite title – Chief Happiness Officer..!
Some call it a `BS` position. Others see immense potential and value. Happiness in the workplace is a valid concern.
For a CHO, happiness is a secret ingredient in all planning, by constantly monitoring and analysing ‘happiness levels’ in an organization. They accurately predict, develop and manage effective employee engagement and retention. Role focuses on creating the right company identity, culture and values, with a determined plan (not HR function).
CHO has regular informal check-ins, known as “happy talks,” where employees can confidentially share their general wellbeing and concerns. They design training, workshops, influence policy changes, with an aim to make work environments more fulfilling, engaging and enjoyable experiences.
Tech giants like Google have seen positive results, proactively created a collegiate atmosphere, teammates share high levels of trust and sense of camaraderie. No clichés.
