The blog will pick a word of the week, to share & explore the selected word. Here’s an expression for the word – anant.

In Indian philosophy & spirituality, anant (अनंत) means endless, infinite or eternal. It originates from the Sanskrit language. Anant literally means without an end. Often associated with the infinite nature of the universe, love, joy, time & our own consciousness. The self, the soul & the universe are truly interconnected. Serene. Limitless. Indestructible. The term also signifies the infinite qualities of knowledge, awareness, harmony, integrity, perception or compassion. Everything finite changes or ends. Liberation comes from realising that our connection with the infinite is endless. The infinite symbolises freedom from narrow identities, beliefs or limitations. Full of immense power, potential & possibilities.
In many Western traditions, infinity is treated mathematically or abstractly. In Eastern philosophy, infinity is also existential. Our reality cannot be exhausted by any single event or the world around us. Any destruction is transformation, all endings are new beginnings. The idea of anant remains powerful because modern life often feels fragmented, accelerated, material & identity-driven. The philosophy of the infinite suggests that value or meaning is not confined to temporary success or failure. Our reality exceeds immediate appearances, circumstances, aspirations, expectations or the roles we play.
“That is infinite. This is infinite.
From the infinite, the infinite arises.
Taking the infinite from the infinite,
The infinite alone remains.”
