A circle drawn in quiet air
an ensō
not perfect, not incomplete.
An empty center, full of everything
stillness speaking in a single stroke.
Zen is not explained
only drawn, only lived.
The circle holds nothing, and yet
it holds the universe.
Form is emptiness
emptiness is form
and the brush knows.
The master draws, as the beginner draws
not knowing. Only being.
Just ink, paper and the courage
to be still, to be simple.
Ensō is not just art
it is beauty, it is honesty in ink.
