Grit

The blog will pick a word of the week, to share & explore the selected word. Here’s an expression for the word – grit. Grit is a unique personality trait that combines motivation, perseverance & passion to achieve our most precious goals or aspirations. It helps maintain focus, positivity, tenacity & determination, even when faced with challenges or setbacks. Empowering. Grit is considered even more important than intelligence or talent. Grit builds courage, belief, resilience & strength of character. “The greatest predictor of success is grit. True success comes when we devote ourselves to endeavours that bring us joy, balance, peace & purpose” – Angela Duckworth. Enthusiasm is common. Endurance is rare!

GRIT. In the face of challenges, we all need clarity, perseverance, focus & determination. We need grit. But, how do we build it? Harvard Business Review explores how we can persist & perform in difficult circumstances to find fun, faith, fortitude & fulfilment. We learn how to convince ourselves to do hard things, to find support in trying circumstances & to know when we’re pushing ourselves too hard. Inspiring perspectives from Angela Duckworth, Misty Copeland, Shannon Huffman Polson & other motivational writers.
