Minimalism

The blog will pick a word of the week, to share & explore the selected word. Here’s an expression for the word – minimalismMinimalism is a creative trend in art, design, business, architecture or music. The term minimalist refers to anything that is spare or stripped to its essentials with the void & free spaces. Less is more describes its core philosophy. Natural elements strive to convey the concept of simplicity & the essence of simple living for ones looking to de-stress, de-clutter, re-build or re-organise for a greater sense of fulfilment, calm, clarity & contentment. Simplicity is extremely important for happiness.

The minimalist lifestyle inspires us to simplify all aspects of our life to achieve a sense of peace, positivity & purpose. Aesthetically, minimalism offers a highly purified form of beauty. “Simplicity is the most difficult thing to secure in our world, it is the last limit experience & the last effort of genius” – George Sand. “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” – Leonardo da Vinci. “Our life is frittered away by detail. Simplify, simplify, simplify!” – Henry David Thoreau. “The simplest things are often the truest” – Richard Bach.

Le Onde (Italian: The Waves) – incredible music by the minimalist Italian composer & pianist Ludovico Einaudi. Based on the novel The Waves by the British writer Virginia Woolf. It reads “if it were a story, it would be set on the sea-front of a long beach. A beach without a beginning & without an end. The story of a man who walks along this shore, perhaps never meets anyone. His gaze lingers occasionally to look at some object or fragment brought from the sea. The footprints of a crab or a solitary seagull. I always take the sand, the sky, some clouds & the sea. Only the waves change – always the same, yet different. Smaller. Larger. Shorter. Longer.”
