Curiosity

The blog will pick a word of the week, to share & explore the selected word. Here’s an expression for the word – curiosity. Defined as a a strong desire to know or learn something new. Curiosity as a behaviour & emotion is the driving force behind human development. A curious mindset makes learning more effective & enjoyable. A beautiful quality related to inquisitive thinking, humility & exploration.

Curiosity is a powerful force that fuels passion, creativity, growth, discovery & happiness. “All knowledge is connected to all other knowledge. The fun is in making the connections. I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious” – Albert Einstein. With self-belief, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the beauty of the human spirit.

As we explore new philosophies or insights that fall outside the range of our current experiences, we become more accepting of the views & ideologies that differ from our own. The greater our comprehension of the varied beliefs that exist in our world, the better equipped we are to recognise their worth & value in our lives. A sense of curiosity is nature’s original school of education. Curiosity is everything. It’s the underlying motivation to learn. Being a lifelong learner is taking joy in the exploration regardless of whether the discovery has any immediate relevance. The goal is to understand for the sake of understanding! It’s a characteristic where we humbly acknowledge that we don’t know everything & perhaps there are better ways to do things. “There is no better catalyst to success than curiosity” – Michael Dell.

We become more adventurous or curious as our minds & hearts seek new goals, dreams, passion & possibilities to expand. Some novel concepts can wisely complement, enhance or integrate beautifully into our own life experiences. Curiosity is the engine of ambition & achievement. Curiously investigating & playfully adopting fresh or inspiring ideas yields positive results, offers amazing learning & development experiences. And, it fuels more curiosity! “Curiosity & creativity are intelligence having fun” – Albert Einstein. The future belongs to the curious.
