Demonstrates that minimalism is much more than an ephemeral musical fashion. The Desert Music is one of Steve Reich‘s grandest conceptions using a chorus, a huge orchestra for the settings of poems by William Carlos Williams. Reich’s genius is repetitive figures with slow masterful harmonic rhythms. Captivating.
