Kyoto…

The iconic city of Kyoto was once the capital of Japan. Famous for classical Buddhist temples, charming Zen gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines, traditional wooden houses & culture.

Kiyomizudera (Pure Water Temple) is the most celebrated temple. Vibrant views of the cherry & maple trees erupt in a sea of colours in the spring & fall. Simply, stunning.

Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) is an ethereal Zen temple. The top floors are covered in pure gold leaf. The temple was a villa of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. Serene.

Tofukuji Zen temple displays spectacular autumn colours. The head temple of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism. Beautiful.

Ginkakuji (Silver Pavilion) is a gorgeous Zen temple along Kyoto’s eastern mountains. A center of contemporary culture. Amazing tea ceremonies, flowers, theatre, poetry & architecture. Hosts a stunning statue of Kannon (Buddhist Goddess of Mercy).

Kyoto Imperial Palace, the residence of Japan’s Imperial Family. Located in the surreal Imperial Park. Wonderful weeping cherry trees stand beside the Konoe Pond. Pristine. A once in a lifetime experience. Still reminisce my memorable visit. Incredible natural beauty.
