Forest bathing…

Forest Bathing (shinrin-yoku). A Japanese word for losing oneself in the forest. The art of breathing in the air & the charming scents, appreciating the lush vegetation, delighting in the natural sounds of the birds. Shinrin-yoku means bathing in a forest atmosphere or taking in the forest through our senses of sight, hearing, smell & touch. Forest bathing isn’t just for the wilderness lovers, this beautiful mindfulness practice can be as simple as walking in any natural environment, being present in the moment & consciously connecting with what’s around us.

On an average, we spend 90% of our time indoors. But, there are recorded health benefits of a walk or a hike in the forest. Scientists believe that forest days are a wonderful way of connecting with nature to balance our body, mind & spirit. The spontaneity, simplicity & serenity brings forth self-expression, creativity, rejuvenation & relaxation.

Self-care can be gritty. But, a grateful life of sweet & simple rhythms can be sustained. Some peaceful me-time helps to refresh, reflect, re-energise & re-prioritise. A happy place to reclaim pieces of oneself gone missing in an accomplishment driven culture. A sublime & immersive concept.
