Arunima Sinha, an amazing mountaineer & sports-woman in India. World’s 1st female amputee to scale Mount Everest, Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), Mount Elbrus (Russia), Mount Kosciusko (Australia), Mount Aconcagua (S. America), Carstensz Pyramid (Indonesia). In her beautiful book Born Again, says she didn’t climb the mountains with her legs but with her mind, heart & spirit.
She was pushed from a running train by robbers. Her left leg had to be amputated & suffered multiple fractures in the spinal cord. Still, she set an aim to climb each of the continent’s highest peaks. In 2015, her amazing achievements were recognised with the highest civilian award of India.
