Bagan (Burmese: ပုဂံ) is an ancient city & a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Mandalay Region of Myanmar. From 9th-13th centuries, the city was the capital of the Bagan Kingdom. Over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas & monasteries were constructed in Bagan. 2200 temples & pagodas survive. Absolutely stunning architecture. Awe-inspiring serenity.
