Dog traders snatch animals from streets, steal pets from backyards. They’re crammed on the back of trucks, driven for days – sick, hungry, injured, afraid. Beaten to death, boiled alive or hanged in slaughterhouses.
In Ghana, dogs are bred in barren cages without proper food & water. In South Korea, dog meat is consumed during Bok Nal (hottest days in summer). In China, there’s increased consumption in provinces like Guangdong, Yunnan, Guangxi, Jilin & Liaoning (infamous Yulin dog meat festival). WHO warns that trade & consumption of dogs poses health risks from trichinellosis, cholera & rabies.
Each year, 30 million dogs are slaughtered & eaten by humans around the world.
DogMeatSurvivor is working relentlessly with local groups for change. Provides funding to train officials for improved enforcement of laws, helps with veterinary & shelter care for confiscated animals, raises global awareness of the suffering involved in illegal dog trade. Please DONATE.
