Sometimes, feelings of apprehension crops up when we worry about the outcome of plans, dreams or aspirations. Perhaps, we’re likely facing unpleasant scenarios, imagining unlikely events that make us feel vulnerable.
We can simply take a blank sheet of paper, split it into two columns. At the top of left column write the word ‘If’, at the top of right column write the word ‘Then’. Under the ‘If’ column, we can write the possible tough scenarios. Under the ‘Then’ column, we can write creative or realistic ideas & thoughts for managing such scenarios. Creating simple plans to work through difficulties empowers us with courage, compassion, hope & assurance to face challenges. Though worries seem large, it can be easy to forget they can be overcome.
Small workable solutions, sharing our thoughts, seeking support automatically bring peace, balance & resilience. Suddenly, our worries seem less cumbersome or significant. Instead, we feel optimistic with gratitude & faith. We can always prioritise, indulge in mindful, thoughtful or restorative activities for our self-care & safety.
