DIY hand sanitisers…

For one’s struggling to find quality hand sanitisers in some countries or keen to experiment, here’s how we can make our own hand sanitisers, based on WHO’s guidelines:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rubbing alcohol (95-99% isopropyl alcohol is best)
  • 1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide (3%)
  • 1 teaspoon glycerin or 1/2 cup 100% Aloe Vera Gel
  • Clean water

Directions:

  1. Combine alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, glycerin or aloe vera gel, stir.
  2. Add water to reach 1 1/3 cups of sanitiser
  3. Pour mixture into a pump bottle or empty clean bottle
  4. Essential oils like lavender, lemongrass, eucalyptus, peppermint, sage can be added
  5. If using essential oils, 2/3 cups rubbing alcohol, 1/3 cup aloe vera gel, 8-10 drops of essential oil

Hope this helps…
