Telescopic view…

Dedicated to emails re: difficult times we face. Don’t think we can contribute to present moments in meaningful ways while being wholly engulfed by it. Only by stepping out, by taking a telescopic perspective can we dip back in, do the work these times ask of us.

Remember when the Voyager took iconic image of Earth called ‘Pale Blue Dot’. Image of 640,000 individual pixels in space depicts Earth as mere 12% of 1 pixel.

‘A grainy pixel, a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam’ as Sagan poetically immortalised the photo. A great perspective, a timeless reminder Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Sometimes, we worry over a fraction of a grainy pixel? Barely perceptible against the cosmic backdrop of an endless space. Helps put things into perspective a bit, some solace.

Consider again our dot. That’s here. That’s us. All this mysterious vastness, we call home. Earth as it truly is! Small, blue, beautiful in an eternal silence of space where it floats. Bathed in radiant rays of the sun. A speck in an ethereal, enveloping cosmic dark/light. Incredibly inspiring, enduring, resilient.

Center selves to share, to listen, to encourage ones in need as channels of hopeful energy. A humbling, compassionate, character-building experience. When we see the big picture in challenging times, realise everything is possible, positively governed by universal laws of nature. Constantly evolving for balance, beauty, belief, harmony, abundance.
