Role models…

Email: How can I be perfect like sister? A real role model. (Japan)

When we put people on a pedestal, we give away our own uniqueness, self-confidence & value. We don’t feel good enough. It’s okay to admire a person in a glowing light. Be inspired by their great qualities, stimulated by their achievements, but, all in moderation. Everyone has flaws like blind spots on the moon. When we entertain illusions that people are perfect, we don’t give them room to simply be human. Also, we harbour unrealistic expectations.

We’re each a combination of inherent energy & human traits. Occasionally, we all struggle, face challenges, make mistakes, deal with fears, afraid of vulnerabilities. When we treat people who we love with this natural awareness, we allow empathy, understanding & compassion to flow. The moment we see through idealised projections is the moment we accept our loved ones as who they truly are. In life, there are no pedestals. We are all walking on the same ground, in the same space together. We carry our own experiences & personality, both the light / dark aspects of ourselves. The key is self-belief & balance to find wholeness within for happier inter-personal relationships.
