Frida Kahlo born Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón was a Mexican painter known for marvellous portraits, self-portraits, works inspired by nature, artefacts of Mexico. Inspired by country’s culture employed a raw, naïve folk art style to explore questions of identity, gender, class, race in Mexican society.
Her paintings often had strong auto-biographical elements, mixed realism with fantasy. Kahlo was one of the best surrealist or magical realist. A favourite artist.
