Seeing a few women, children walk along the road-side, barefoot. It’s 10 degrees – cold, misty. Heart wrenching to see extreme poverty up close. Can’t face people living at the bottom of the income ladder, so poor they can’t afford shoes.
Of course, they lack much more – healthcare, education, seeds, tools to grow food, opportunities. Fuels passion to fight against poverty. Number of people living on less than $2 a day (World Bank’s international poverty line) is over 700 million.
