I don’t know…

Email: Tried everything I know, still can’t be creative for a music project. (US)

Sometimes, I feel the same way. Blocked in thoughts. Here’s a humble perspective. Generally, we work from what we don’t know towards what we know. Creativity is working from what we know towards what we don’t know!

One doesn’t arrive in words or in art by necessarily fully knowing where one is going. In a work of art, something appears that didn’t previously exist. “Listen to inner impulses. Inspiration is not an exclusive privilege of poets, artists. There is, has been, will always be curious, creative people who inspiration visits”.

Their work is a constant adventure of stimulating challenges, cracking codes. Difficulties, setbacks don’t quell passion. A swarm of new questions emerge from each problem they solve. Whatever inspiration is, it’s born from a continuous ‘I don’t know’.

Even truer of life, a human is greatest work of art. But, to create with an open-endedness of a fertile not-knowing, a sense of discovery is not an easy task. ‘I don’t know’ is a small phrase but flies on mighty wings of wonder, creativity. Expands to include spaces within, outer expanses.

A surrender to surprise all around sows innocent seeds of potential, astonishment, beauty. All kinds of illuminations,  break-throughs are possible with optimism, ingenuity, belief. Sometimes, we try too hard, stress, criticise selves as well. Just allow ideas, uniqueness, energy, expressions to flow naturally.

  1. This design is incredible! You definitely know how tto keep
a reader amused. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost
moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job.
I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that,
how you presented it. Too cool!
