Ocelot…

Twice the size of house cat’s, Ocelot has spotted fur, tufted ears. Once in large number’s in the U.S. Ocelot’s are active, strongly nocturnal, resting in tree’s, dense brushes. As carnivore’s hunt, eat animal’s like rodents, rabbits, young deer, birds, snakes, fish.

But, fur and pet trade decimated the population. Fewer than 60 Ocelot’s remain in south Texas near Mexican border. This endangered cat’s biggest threat is habitat loss due to expansion of agricultural land’s, highway’s, new wall at Mexican border. A barrier if completed would block U.S. Ocelot’s from breeding with one’s in Mexico.

To ensure Ocelot’s future, need to enlarge amount of natural, protected habitat.
