Full moon names…

Many cultures have given distinct names to the monthly full moon. Farmer’s Almanac lists names commonly used in the U.S. European settler’s followed their own customs. Native American people also had different names. Book This Day in North American Indian History lists more than 50 native peoples, their name for full moons. Also, listed on AmericanIndian.net.

Full moon name’s often correspond to seasonal marker’s. Harvest Moon occurs at end of growing season in September, Cold Moon in frosty December. Southern Hemisphere season’s are switched.
