Save the owls…

Burrowing Owls live underground in burrows dug by small mammals like squirrels, prairie dogs. One of the smallest owls in North America, threatened by habitat destruction, land use change.

Snowy Owls are white with narrow, sparse brown bars, spots. Large North American owl species. Also threatened by climate change, impact to habitat, availability of prey.

Northern Spotted Owl is dark to chestnut brown in colour, oval white spots on head, neck, back. A medium-sized owl threatened by loss of habitat, logging, climate change, competition with increasing barred owl populations.

Cactus Ferruginous Pygmy Owl is a tiny owl, actually diurnal unlike most owls. Habitat loss, fragmentation, invasive species, lack of protection is devastating.

Hope environmentalists, law makers, citizens can help save this vulnerable species through active conservation efforts.
