Intellectual humility

Intellectual humility is knowing what we know. More importantly, knowing what we don’t know! Wonder which is worse, thinking that we know more or less than others? How can we avoid the arrogance of over-confidence or the excessive humility of a defeatist? Think, the trick is in striking a balance. Knowing & accepting what we don’t know is a sign of real strength. Learning is a treasure.

Where we lack confidence, a well-grounded sense of compassion & belief in oneself is our saviour. It dispels fears, doubts & negativity. Is there a formula for achieving such a mindset? Developing a growth mindset is a gradual process, requires consistent effort. Positive affirmations & mindfulness helps build resilience. “You are strong because you’ve been weak. You are fearless because you’ve been afraid. You are wise because you’ve been foolish.”

Sometimes, our world is painted in shades of grey, rather than clear strokes of black or white. But, we can paint our own rainbow of colours to humbly find our own light & spark. Stay positive, stay curious! “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem & smarter than you think” – A.A. Milne.
