Science…

Email: Philosophy has no value in a world of science. A scientist. (Ireland)

Good point. Just a few simple, humble thoughts. Philosophy addresses issues that can’t be solved by facts alone! Science works on past observations, assumptions to make general claims about what hasn’t yet been observed as predictions. Is it inadequately justified or stereotypical? Science is holistic not so singular, straight-forward.

We may think philosophy is fuzzy whereas science discovers facts, delivers proofs, creates algorithms, equations. Physics was once called natural philosophy. Music is one with mathematics.

Science solves real-world problems like technology. Gives life saving drugs, vaccines. Philosophy doesn’t have tangibles we can touch. But, Einstein’s philosophical thought experiments made NASA’s Cassini possible. Aristotle’s logic is the basis for computer science, laptops, smart-phones. Philosophers focus on mind-body-spirit alignment. Philosophy has always quietly supported science.

Science is considered objective. What about other side of the coin to balance – subjective? Philosophy helps interpret facts, analysis. Science brims with important conceptual, interpretative, psychological, ethical issues that philosophy can address at it’s core.

I respect, believe equally in both.
