Writing a journal…

Email: Point of writing personal journal? Why do you? (Kenya)

In general, writing helps increase self-awareness, offers deeper intuitive insights for development. All of us have a story to tell, whether we think we’ve lived an exciting life or not. Everyone has a life experience worth putting on a page. For some, creative writing has a hopeful, healing effect.

When navigating challenging times, it’s a way to surmount the insurmountable. Achieves clarity, answers. A visual, mindful practice giving voice to one’s feelings, thoughts. Also, a way to reclaim one’s voice.

Writing releases stress, brings comfort. Sometimes, journal entries stay as mere entries, other times building blocks for future memoirs. We can examine life-changing, pivotal experiences to understand their impact. Incorporating reflections into narratives with a current-day lens helps evolve perspectives.

Writing’s a powerful tool. Like setting out on a journey to visit a new land, an imaginative adventure. Being mindful of innermost senses to creatively express self. What do we feel? What do we see? What do we think? What touches us? Who we are? What inspires us? What did we learn? What resonates? Then, we look at experiences in a grand, unified spectrum of life, rather than isolated events.

There’s only one person in this world who can tell your story with clinical precision – you! Focusing on what’s most important helps determine reasons for being. Ultimately leads to a profound sense of contentment. Keep the words flowing…
