Email: Family doesn’t give me importance. Am I insignificant? (US)
Sometimes, it’s easy to buy into the illusion of our own insignificance. We may see institutions, celebrities, successful people in our community, compare selves. Think their success, fame, joy, material power affirms how little our own lives amount to. But, nothing can be further from truth. All of us face similar challenges, opportunities. Have access to same sources of inspiration, radiance.
Every single one of us is uniquely gifted, matters tremendously. Just our very existence impacts countless people in countless ways, more than we can imagine. The world simply couldn’t exist if you or any one of us were not an important part of it. Unknowingly contributing, giving, sharing in our own little ways.
Maybe, it’s time to explore why such a feeling? Self-rejecting, limiting beliefs are dangerous. Restricts potential, possibilities. Examine where these feelings of insignificance first took root, think what changes can help.
When we shift perceptions, perspectives on our own abilities, find innocent, adventurous parts of selves we had long forgotten. May even discover exciting new parts we never knew existed, a newer self. When we gain self awareness, believe we add value, acknowledge how much our life really matters, recognise our talents/skills, new sources of energies, enthusiasm emerges. Feel a greater sense of connection with the world with renewed hope, restored faith. Believe!
